Soy you later,
The BurgerFuel Thickshake range has something for everyone, including a long-standing plant-based alternative that has amassed a loyal following.
Well, we’ve been keeping a watchful eye on alternative milk trends over recent years and word on the street was oat milk was fast becoming the GOAT plant-based option for Kiwis. So our menu development team, along with our mates at the Plant Shake Company, have been secretly and meticulously fine tuning an oat ice cream that forms the perfect foundation for a thicker than thick, creamy oat shake.
After many a late night blind-tasting bender, we knew we had something special and decided to make the old switcheroo to give customers a fresh new plant-powered shake option to get amongst.
So, it’s soy you later to soy shakes and hello to our new range of thick, creamy BurgerFuel Oat Thickshakes. Featuring a delightful blend of Plant Shake Company oat-based ice cream, smooth, silky Boring® Oat milk and your pick from our selection of life-changing shake flavours.
Why the change we hear you ask?
Here’s just a few reasons:
- Keeping our menu fresh and interesting is super important to us, and with Oat milk currently being the highest consumed alternative milk in NZ (we did our research!), we wanted to give a wider range of customers a popular plant-powered shake option (and unfortunately, we can’t offer both – need to keep our kitchen operations running smoothly!).
- From an environmental standpoint, Oat Milk produces less CO2 emissions and the milk and icecream in our shakes are made in NZ from locally grown oats, while Soy Milk has been linked with deforestation in the Amazon. Boo.
- Oat milk is naturally low in cholesterol and Boring Milk adds vitamins that are harder to find in a plant-based diet, such as calcium, B12 and B2.
- Oat milk has a creamy texture and very mild flavour that doesn’t overpower flavours. Making it the perfect base to add delicious flavoursome syrups and other ingredients.
