WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN: FRAN
Have a read of our very own FRANtastic Operations Development Assistant blog all the way from Egypt:
Hi everyone! I’ve been in Egypt for just over two weeks now, helping get the store and staff ready for opening.
Flying into Cairo was amazing as you get to view the full extent of this GIGANTIC city! With a population of over 20 million in the greater Cairo area, there are a lot of people, buildings and cars making driving certainly an art form - weaving in and out of heaving traffic while giving friendly horn honks to ensure other drivers know you’re there!
The store is located in Maadi, a nice modern part of the city with many other bright new restaurants and a few which have been here since the 1800's. It feels incredibly rich with history, the age old Nile River which runs through town to the Giza Pyramids which the other day we got to ride horse back to.
All the staff have been practicing and perfecting their burger making and service skills, but with temperatures right now between 30 - 38 degrees daily it will definitely be death before bad burgers!
Other than burgers the locals stare at my blonde hair like no tomorrow! Have also seen a quite a few tanks and there are loads of police and military all gunned up!
