Lorde 'The Love Club EP'

A friend of mine shared a link to Lorde on Facebook, so being a good mate I thought I'd have a look and a listen, and then I thought "holy crap this is good!" After a little digging I found out that Lorde is in fact a 16 year old kiwi schoolgirl called Ella (and had another "holy crap" moment).

So Lorde...at times she sounds like Lana Del Rey or Florence Welch, even tapping an Azelia Banks (without the potty mouth) influence or two. She can be equal parts uplifting and dark, and her lyrics defy her age without exactly ignoring it.

She's starting to cause ripples too. Here in NZ you'll see the likes of Sola Rosa commenting on her song Royals on Soundcloud to ask about doing a collaboration. Stateside, people like Stacie Orrico are tweeting links to her songs. It's gonna happen for this girl, soon.

My advise is to listen and enjoy. And then most likely listen and enjoy over and over again!
