On the road with Kat Benson and her BurgerFuel GSR

I admire Kat Benson, she is super hardworking, crazy friendly and she has created great relationships with her sponsors which in turn, allows her to travel all over the country to compete at events and display her car.

I recently hitched a ride with Kat and her crew chief Brent “Bean Bag” Lucas on the way to a Forza Horzion Super Lap round at Mansfield Autocourse.

When traveling with Kat, it’s almost compulsory to stop at every BurgerFuel we pass. So the first stop was BurgerFuel Taupo.

Breaking the first rule of BurgerFuel Bite Club: Don’t talk about Bite Club

Kat’s BurgerFuel colouring in competition.

The BurgerFuel “Cran Brie Cracker” has to be their best burger. I’d go so far to say it’s refreshing.

Not much of Kat’s life doesn’t end up on Insta.

New Zealand is such a beautiful country to road trip around. Lucky us.

 Bean Bag never smiles. Ever.

Etnies did a good job with these Kat Benson spec high tops.

Who remembers these from the old school days?

Ski Safari. Stop what you are doing and get it now. Best game ever. I’ve got like 1.6 million points. No big deal.

Wholly matching helmets Batman!

We arrived at Manfield early arvo, so stopped by the track to catch up with Hans and the E&H crew. He was competing for the first time in the IRC Series.

Everything Kat owns is either BurgerFuel colours or is adorned by a sponsor's logo. It’s that kind of commitment that keeps her sponsors happy.

After a hard day's road tripping, it was finally time to relax with a cold one. My drink of choice Park Lane Gin and Soda. #10xbetterthanbeer

Kat Benson introduced herself to STM’s Project 86 the only way she knows how.

Little known fact: this motor was built by STM way back in the day. Still going strong.

Kat drove well all weekend.

Oh that mountain looks good. Gutted we couldn’t stop for a ride on the way home.

I took heaps of footage of STM’s Project 86 with both Jono Lester and Andre Simon driving. So I started to put it together on the way home. You can watch the videos on STM’s Youtube Channel.

It’s always much more enjoyable to road trip with a crew.

Pass through Taupo? Stop at BurgerFuel. It’s the rules! Ah well, could be worse.

I fell asleep admiring the new graphic concept that Mark Curran and have been working on for STM’s Project 86. These are to be revealed sometime soon.
